Why did they go out of business?
Quizy’s founder, Sachin Yadav, cited the Indian government’s decision to levy a 28% GST on online gaming as the main reason for the closure. In a LinkedIn post, Yadav said that the GST hike had made it “impossible” for Quizy to continue operating. He also said that the government’s decision to club online gaming with games of chance had made it difficult for the company to attract investors.
Quizy faced competition from other online learning platforms, such as Unacademy and Byju’s. These platforms had more resources and a larger user base than Quizy, which made it difficult for Quizy to compete.
